Loud!!!

If you are interested in a restaurant where you can’t hear your dining partners’ conversation, I suggest you try Jaleo in Crystal City (especially when the flamenco dancer is doing her thing) or Oya at 9th and G in the District. Both have high ceilings and lots of stone so the noise just bounces around. Despite Oya’s $28 prix fixe three course dinners, it’s not the place to share a romantic meal. The bar is a happening place, but here again, it’s just plain noisy.
